How to pick, the new iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR

For the consecutive second year, Apple has announced three new iPhones at once.

THE IPHONE XS, XS MAX, AND XR SHARE A LOT OF THE SAME FEATURES

The processor: All three new iPhones share Apple’s latest A12 Bionic processor [The A12 Bionic – It has a six-core CPU (with two “performance” cores and four “efficiency” cores), a four-core GPU (which is up to 50 per cent faster than the A11’s), and an updated Neural Engine, a special part of the chip designed to handle AI tasks ]., a 7nm chip that, according to the company, represents a breakthrough in mobile computational power. Its two performance cores (which handle intensive tasks) are “up to 15 per cent faster” than the iPhone X, while the four efficiency cores (responsible for powering your everyday app usage) are “up to 50 per cent more efficient.” The GPU is up to 50 per cent faster. It’s not like modern iPhones struggle with running iOS games. Each new iPhone also contains Apple’s updated, separate eight-core Neural Engine for handling machine learning or AI tasks, which can handle 5 trillion operations per second.

The main camera: the XR might lack a telephoto/zoom lens, but it has the exact same 12-megapixel f/1.8 primary camera as the XS and XS Max. Apple says that on each of the three models, the camera uses an all-new sensor (with larger pixels) and it’s capable of Smart HDR, which produces photos with “far greater dynamic range” and less noise in low light. The new camera is also better at freezing motion shots, according to Apple. Like last year, all of the new iPhones can shoot 4K video at 60 fps and 1080p slo-mo at 240 fps.

Frontfacing TrueDepth camera: the camera system used for selfies, Face ID, Animoji, and Memoji (Moji) is the same across all three new iPhones. It’s a 7-megapixel f/2.2 sensor.

True Tone, widecolour displays: Though they use different display technology, the iPhone XS and XR each include Apple’s True Tone tech, which adjusts the display’s temperature to match the ambient lighting around you. They’re also capable of showing a wide P3 colour gamut.

A quicker Face ID system: yes, the home button is gone for good from Apple’s 2018 iPhones, but the company has sped up Face ID this year by adding a faster secure enclave and smarter face-scanning algorithms.

Faster wireless charging: Apple says all of its 2018 models support faster Qi charging than the iPhone X.

DualSIM support: the new iPhones are all capable of supporting two phone lines by including both eSIM and one physical nanoSIM card in the phone. This will make international travels easier.

Stereo audio recording: The iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR each have four microphones built in to capture stereo sound when you’re shooting video.

Better stereo speakers: Apple claims that the new iPhones all have improved stereo speakers with a wider audio presentation.

Tech Mahindra Set up 5G Center of Excellence.


Tech Mahindra has announced that it is planning to set up a 5G (5G is a marketing term for some new mobile technologies. Definitions differ and confusion is common. The ITU IMT-2020 standard provides for speeds up to 20 gigabits per second and has only been demonstrated with millimetre waves of 15 gigahertz and higher frequency) Center of Excellence (CoE) powered by Intel technology in Redmond, Washington and Bengaluru. The CoE will help communication service providers (CSP) optimize their capital expenditure on 5G migrations and rollout and accelerate new revenue-generating services that will lead the transformation journey.

The CoEs will be set up at Tech Mahindra’s Intel-enabled VNF-Xchange Labs (Virtualized Network Functions, software implementations of network functions that can be deployed on a Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure), and will focus on developing 5G virtualized radio access network (vRAN) solutions. And it will help in diverse industry verticals like healthcare, manufacturing, banking, automotive, Energy and more, we are poised to unlock new experiences for these industry verticals with 5G and simultaneously drive growth for CSPs.

5G networks will need data-service centric platforms to not only enhance connectivity but also empower industry stakeholders to use data for better decision making. 5G will require a change in the network’s anatomy to enable CSPs to offer a wide range of digital service and SDN/NFV [SDN– Software-defined networking (SDN) and NFV — Network functions virtualization (also network function virtualization or NFV) is a network architecture concept that uses the technologies of IT virtualization)] is the foundation to accomplish this. The work in this CoE will provide for new support and acceleration of emerging technologies to be integrated into the new architectures, but more importantly, develop new social and industry relevant use cases.

Chrome Features

The features in Chrome that communicate with Google

Omnibox
Google Chrome uses a combined web address and search bar at the top of the browser window. As you use the Omnibox, your default search engine can suggest addresses and search queries that may be of interest to you. These suggestions make navigation and searching faster and easier, If Google is your default search engine when you select one of the Omnibox suggestions, Chrome sends your original search query, the suggestion you selected, and the position of the suggestion back to Google. This information helps improve the quality of the suggestion feature.

Network predictions
Chrome uses a prediction service to load pages more quickly. The prediction service uses navigation history and local heuristics to predict which resources and pages are likely to be needed next TCP and TLS pre-connection, and prefetching of web pages. To turn off network predictions, uncheck “Use a prediction service to load pages more quickly” in the “Privacy” section of Chrome’s settings.

Google search local
If Google is set as your default search engine, Chrome will try to determine the most appropriate local for Google search queries conducted from the Omnibox in order to give you relevant search results based on your location.

The Chrome New Tab page may display suggestions for websites that you might want to visit.

WhatsApp tricks you should know about it !!

Did you know you can pin your important chats on the top in WhatsApp? Or that you can read WhatsApp message without informing the sender? Like these, there are other nifty tricks/features that can change the way you use the world’s most popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp.

1) Send messages without typing
WhatsApp users can send messages without actually typing, thanks to Siri and Google Assistant. While Android smartphone users can use Google Assistant to send messages, iPhone users can send messages using Siri. These digital assistants can also read out your WhatsApp messages
for you.

2) Read WhatsApp message without informing the sender
Do you know that there is a trick in WhatsApp which will enable you to read a message without informing the sender? All you need to do is scroll down to the notification plan and enable the flight mode on the smartphone. Once done, just open the WhatsApp chat and read the message. After reading the message just make sure that you close the app from the multi-window so, that it doesn’t run in the background and sync you when online. After the complete process just removes the phone from flight mode! you have read the message without informing the sender.

3) Share your live location


After rolling our live location sharing on Messenger, Facebook rolled out the feature on WhatsApp too, but WhatsApp already added in 1 year ago. Once you share your live location with someone, they would be able to track wherever you go for the time period you select. The three-time frames that can be selected are — 15 minutes, 1 hour and 8 hours. It is very simple to share one’s live location with their friends. Just open WhatsApp, tap on the ‘Attachment’ icon on the typing spacebar and select ‘Location.’ Once you do this, you’ll get two options – ‘Share live location,’ and ‘Send your current location.’ Tap on the former option and select the time frame.

5) ‘Unsend’ messages
Did you just send a wrong message to the wrong person on WhatsApp? You needn’t panic. There is still a way to delete it. Just select the message press ‘Delete’ on the top bar which has other options like reply, mark star, copy, forward and information. Once you press ‘Delete,’ you’ll get two options – ‘Delete for me’ and ‘Delete for everyone’. Select the second one so that the recipient cannot read the message that you mistakenly sent them. However, you only get seven minutes to delete the message after you have sent it.

6) Pin your chats


There are times when you want your most important chats on the top of your conversation list. Scrolling down through scores of messages to find that chat can be tedious. Not anymore. In a recent update, WhatsApp added this function. To pin a contact to the top of the list, you have to long press on the chat from that person and then press the ‘pin icon’ that appears right next to delete, mute and archive icons on the top of the page. As of now, only three contacts can be pinned to place them on top of the conversation list.

7) Format text
There’s a good chance you’re already aware of this feature but have never used it. Somehow, changing formats of text on WhatsApp never really caught on. We’ll tell you again how to format text on WhatsApp as it is a handy feature to use. You can bold text on WhatsApp by starting it and following it with an asterisk ‘*’. Similarly, for italics, make sure the text is preceded and followed by an underscore sign ‘_’. You can also make your text appear struck off with Strikethrough. For that precede and follow it with tilde ‘~’.

8) Add conversation shortcuts


We all have a favourite friend with we are constantly yapping on WhatsApp. Rather than opening WhatsApp and going to their chat each time you want to talk to them, you can add a conversation shortcut on your home screen. Just long press on the conversation, click on three dots on top of the page and click ‘Add chat shortcut’.

Data Science and Machine Learning

Machine learning and statistics are part of data science. The word learning in machine learning means that the algorithms depend on some data, used as a training set, to fine-tune some model or algorithm parameters. This encompasses many techniques such as regression, naive Bayes or supervised clustering. But not all techniques fit in this category. For instance, unsupervised clustering – a statistical and data science technique – aims at detecting clusters and cluster structures without any a-prior knowledge or training set to help the classification algorithm. A human being is needed to label the clusters found. Some techniques are hybrid, such as semi-supervised classification. Some pattern detection or density estimation techniques fit in this category.

Data science is much more than machine learning though. Data, in data science, may or may not come from a machine or mechanical process (survey data could be manually collected, clinical trials involve a specific type of small data) and it might have nothing to do with learning as I have just discussed. But the main difference is the fact that data science covers the whole spectrum of data processing, not just the algorithmic or statistical aspects. In particular, data science also covers

  • data integration
  • distributed architecture
  • automating machine learning
  • data visualization
  • dashboards and BI
  • data engineering
  • automated, data-driven decisions

Dream ….

I remember as a small child when we would have these gatherings with either family or friends. Invariably someone would come up and mention my  “cuteness” and ask. “what are you going to be when you grow up ?”

well, it started out being a cowboy or some superhero.
Later it was a fireman, policeman, lawyer. As I grow older my dreams of the future changed. when at last, I was in college, I was asked,
“what will you major in?” Another question designed to find out what I would be when I was grown up.

But then I had my heart set on becoming a preacher as my father before me. so I studied and prepared for that life.
I reached success in that endeavour. I was preaching a nearly a full-time for much of my adult life. physically disability keeps me from playing my trade full-time anymore, but I still am called upon to preach here and there. I am content that I could realize my dream and perhaps have a positive influence
on someone’s life. My kids are now reaching their dreams and it thrills me to watch them achieved their goals.

However, for many, there is a “thief”, which goes around stealing our dreams and robbing us of the necessary mental state to attain our goals.

Sometimes that thief will come as a parent, a relative, friends or a co-worker, but the greatest thief is, so many times, just ourselves.

we find ourselves just about reaching a pinnacle, and this small voice inside says, “you’ll never make it.” You can’t possibly do this.”
“Very few have ever done this successfully” And on and on the “small” voice predict some kind of the failure, Failure, though, is exactly how dreams are realized. It is one of the most important tools we have because it teaches us invaluable lessons. And when we learn these lesson well, we are poised and ready for success, which is probably just around the corner.

The message I always gave my children was, you are capable of doing anything your heart desires. You are smart enough, good-looking enough, strong enough, and worthy of reaching the stars. The human spirit is indomitable. Remember the saying. ” If you can conceive it, and your heart can believe it, you can achieve it.

There is no “overnight ” success, but with perseverance, it will come. Imagine yourself in the life
you dream of living. Then in your heart, believe it happens to you, as it has for others. then work, work, work, work. you get the picture.

So, be true to your dream, and don’t let anyone steal it from you — especially yourself. you can do anything your heart desires,
so don’t give up on. Let the dream in your life.
